Fault Code Description |
---|
Diagnosis monitors the measured pressure of the boost pressure sensor and compares it with the target value. The fault is detected when the measured pressure is 90 hPa lower than the target pressure and at the same time the duty factor of the wastegate is high. Possible cause of fault: - Boost pressure sensor defective - Pressure converter wastegate valve defective - Wastegate valve defective (stuck open) |
Fault Code Conditions | |
---|---|
General Conditions |
Voltage condition: - None Temperature condition: - None Time condition: - None Other conditions: - Engine speed > 1900 rpm - Load must be applied so that turbocharging takes place within a defined control range (target value of pressure ratio at compressor grater than 1.25 to 1.8 and less than 1.7 to 2.5, each as characteristic curve over engine speed) |

|
Driving Conditions |

Fault Time Condition |
---|
The fault code is entered if it exists for longer than 1.6 s |
Service Plan |
---|
- Check vacuum at output of pressure converter for wastegate valve (-450 +/-50 hPa at 50 % duty factor at idle speed), see test module for test - Check whether wastegate valve moves stiffly, see test module - Check vacuum at input of pressure converter for wastegate valve (target value -900 to -800 hPa) |
Fault Impact |
---|
Possible noticeable symptoms: - Reduced power Breakdown information: - The engine is operating in the limp-home program, the trip can be continued to a restricted extent but overtaking manoeuvres should be avoided in view of the reduced performance. |
