Fault Code Description
The main diagnosis monitors the adaptation boundaries and even the limit position of the adaptation boundaries. The adaptation boundaries are specified by the respective characteristic maps. However, the diagnosis does not take the evaluation into account
? the ? control and
? the tank ventilation
The diagnosis fuel system still works with two additional functions that monitor the oxygen sensor control factor. These functions are active in both the adaptation phases and in the tank ventilation phases because this is a requirement of the authorities (CARB = California Air Resources Board).
The fault is detected when the minimum mixture controller limit (-30%) is undershot for 50 seconds. Cylinder bank 1
Possible cause of fault:
- Mixture too rich
A. intake plenum
1. malfunction of the crankcase ventilation
(fuel vapour)
2 Pressure sensor fault
before and after the throttle valve
3. tank vent valve not tight
(tank ventilation gases)
B. intake plenum exhaust apparatus
One catalyst completely closed!

C. Fuel path
faulty fuel injector (mechanical)

General Conditions Voltage condition:
- System voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- Coolant temperature > -10 °C

- Engine on

Service Plan
‐ Visual inspection of affected components
‐ Locate leaks and rectify
- Check hot film air mass meter plug contacts and electrical lines
- Replace hot film air mass meter
- fused catalyst (visual inspection via probe ports)
- Check fuel high pressure
- Check high pressure sensor contacts and electrical lines
- Replace high pressure sensor
- Replace high pressure sensor
