Fault Code Description
The diagnosis monitors the mixture adaptation process. Fault monitoring conditions: This fault is detected if the fuel/air mixture is too rich and depending on load condition, has to be reduced by 25 to 30%.

Fault Code Conditions
General Conditions	Temperature precondition: - None Time precondition: - None Other preconditions: - Engine running. - Tank ventilation system not active. Control unit voltage: 9 V to 16 V.
Terminal Condition	Terminal 15 on
Terminal Condition	PRD status: Driving
Terminal Condition	PRD status: Testing-analysis-diagnosis
Driving Conditions	Note: The designations of terminal status or PWF status apply according to the vehicle electrical system of the vehicle.

Fault Time Condition
The fault is entered when it is applied for longer than 1 minute.

Service Plan

Check if faults are entered for the following components/functions, then remedy these first: - Oxygen sensor before catalytic converter - Hot film air mass meter - Intake pipe pressure sensor - Intake air temperature sensor - Electromotive throttle actuator - Fuel tank vent valve - Camshaft sensor - High-pressure fuel system - Low-pressure fuel system - Valvetronic intake adjuster - Voltage supply sensor system/actuator 5 V - Ethanol sensor (only in E100 vehicles) Check air intake system for tightness, checking the following components as well at the same time: - Crankcase ventilation - Oil filler cap - Oil dipstick - Tank ventilation system - Brake servo - Cylinder head cover Check exhaust system for leak tightness. Rule out poor fuel grade. Check injectors with the test module for misfiring detection and replace if necessary. Then reset adaptations.

Fault Impact
- The engine operates in its emergency program. - Lack of power. - Rough engine running.
