Fault Code Description |
---|
A positive continuous exhaust-gas recirculation valve position control deviation is detected if the control deviation lies above the maximum limit value. The limit value is calculated using the position control setpoint value and a characteristic curve. |
Fault Code Conditions | |
---|---|
General Conditions |
Monitoring of steady-state control deviation only takes place when the following preconditions are met: - The exhaust-gas recirculation valve monitoring reports an enable condition or a switch-off condition. - The adaptation of the exhaust-gas recirculation valve is not active. - The coolant temperature is greater than the limit value: 16.96°C. Control unit voltage: 9.5 V to 16 V. |

Fault Time Condition |
---|
The fault is entered if it is present for longer than the following period (debounce time): 2000 ms |
Service Plan |
---|
For electrical EGR valve: 1. Check line and plug connections (actuating wire of the exhaust-gas recirculation valve) 2. If wires and plug connections are OK: Replace EGR valve. For pneumatic EGR valve: Check vacuum system between following components and repair if necessary: - Vacuum reservoir. - Vacuum fuel tank. - Pressure converter for bypass flap of EGR cooler. - Vacuum unit for bypass flap of EGR cooler (diaphragm may be torn). - Pressure converter for EGR valve. - Vacuum unit for EGR valve (diaphragm may be torn). Look out for porous/cracked hoses! If the vacuum system is OK: Replace EGR valve. |
