Fault Information

Fault Code Description
The fault is detected if the diesel particulate filter load is excessive. The fault is detected if the exhaust gas pressure exceeds a limit value. The limit value is calculated from a characteristic map dependent on the engine speed and fuel injection rate.
Note:
As excessively high soot deposits in the diesel particulate filter can lead to filter overheating on regeneration, is blocked in the case of this fault.
Fault Code Conditions
General Conditions Continuously
Control unit voltage: 9.5 V to 16 V.
Terminal Condition

Driving Conditions
Fault Time Condition
The fault is entered if it is present for longer than the following period (debounce time): 10000 ms
Service Plan
1. Check oil level and change interval. Correct oil level or change oil.
2. Check swirl flaps.
3. Perform exhaust gas pressure check
4. Check diesel particulate filter (visual inspection to see if exhaust tailpipe and diesel particulate filter outlet sooty).
5. Perform regeneration. Only possible with constant-speed driving for at least 30 min. (The regeneration cannot be stopped with the corresponding service function for this fault).
6. Check intake ports and intake valves for sooting. Excessive oil entry from the crankcase ventilation can lead to sooting, especially with short-distance driving.
Fault Impact
Vehicle can continue to be driven. The maximum speed is reduced until the fault has been rectified.
