Fault Code Description
The diagnosis monitors the pressure in the crankcase.
Fault monitoring conditions:
The fault is detected if the deviation of the pressure in the crankcase from the model value is too high.
Maximum permissible ratio of measured crankcase pressure to model value:
- unthrottled operation: between 0.1 and 0.3 (depending on variant).
- throttled operation: between 0.05 and 0.3 (depending on variant).

General Conditions Temperature precondition:
Intake air temperature maximum: 89.96 °C Intake air temperature minimum: between -30.04 °C and 4.96 °C (depending on variant).
Coolant temperature maximum: 119.96 °C
Coolant temperature minimum: between 39.96 °C and 79.96 °C (depending on variant).
Time precondition:
- None
Other preconditions:
Engine speed maximum: between 2600 rpm and 3000 rpm (depending on variant).
Engine speed minimum: 600 rpm
Driving speed maximum: ~125 km/h minimum vehicle speed: between 0 km/h and 5 km/h (variant-dependent).
Control unit voltage: 9 V to 16 V.

Driving Conditions
Fault Time Condition
Depending on the driving cycle, the fault is entered after approx. 600 sec in partial load operation.
Service Plan
Perform visual inspection for leakages and connection points on following components:
- Tank ventilation line on both cylinder banks (after tank vent valve)
- Crankcase ventilation lines between cylinder head covers and discharge points on the clean air sheet
- Oil filler cap including seal
- Visual and function check of the non-return valve in the clean air arch
- Renew the crankcase pressure sensor

Service Notes
Turn and tilt clean air sheet several times to check whether the non-return valve opens and close in the process.
When shaking the clean air sheet, a rattling noise must be audible, which is generated by the non-return valve.
